Let's meet on internet
Dear classmates:
Time flies! When we
first met at Xian Jiao Tong University in Spring 1978, we never thought that it
would be so difficult to see each other after graduation. Our classmates
recently have met in Xian Jiao Tong University. A photo was taken and please
have a look of our friends and classmates of four years.
It seems impossible
that we are going to meet again soon! However, we can meet at here, the home of
Math 71 on WWW. To recall some of our friends' face, try to view the graduation photo taken in Dec,
1981. The scanning is done by Pan Huan Xu. And you can also check the name list in Chinese and Pin Yin
of our class if you can't remember someone. Again, Pan Huan Xu has typed
both Chinese names and Pin
Yin for us. Li Chun has made a very beautiful table which includes everyone's
name with the email, webpage and other information, please add more information
into the list Warning: the

A brief history
Math 71 or Shu Xue Shi Zi Ban is the short name
for 1977 class of undergraduate students in Department of Mathematics, Xian Jiao
Tong University. A policy change in 1977 restarted the university entrance
examination in China. Due to the late examination dates, the class in fact
started in Feb 1978. The student life was colorful but not very exciting.
Everyone was studying very hard by any standard in order to secure a better
future. In Spring 1982, we finally graduated and hoped to have a stable job and
peaceful life.
What we will have on webpage
It was hard to imagine that the life
in China as well as other parts of the world has changed so much in the last 20
years. We are now working hard to make a living and everyone is very busy. The
only way we can still keep in touch is through email and WWW. We will ask your
help to put more information about our class on the home page. You can also make
your contribution by sending your comments, suggestions, photos, or even short
description of your life in the last 20 years etc. You can see a few photos from our classmates and
their kids. More photo can be added in if the disk space is available.

best gift for all of us!
